About
Sally Ellis
I grew up amongst the disused quarries, lakes and ancient woodlands in and around Eryri/Snowdonia. Born in 1971 and studied Art & Design in St Mary’s College of Art in Bangor during the 80’s
Inspiration
My work uses a variety of techniques and subject matter. From portrayals of old Welsh sayings the origins of which have always intrigued me since childhood to hand-carved Lino-cut prints. Some of which are hand-inked with the intention to evoke the natural rhythms of our Celtic landscape with atmospheric hints of the pure and rugged beauty of Eryri.
I try to use my titles to edge towards an explanation, hopefully you can read and see the narrative in my Radical Botanical Wildflower Art.

Botanical Art
Best known for botanical Wild Flower Art. All of the flowers and leaves which grow from my imagination and my artistic core are a vessel for me to channel my emotion and a way for me to share a diary of my mind scape. Each piece is a document of my emotional state of mind at a certain time, it is a form of communication and expression depending on how I feel and a portrayal of what and how I feel and see the emotion in others. I try to use my titles to edge towards an explanation, hopefully you can read and see the narrative in my Wild Flowers that may take you on a meditative journey.
And according to some professional third-party critique….
“The flowers and the foliage in these paintings can take you on a joyful meditative journey.”
For anyone not in the market for an original piece there is a wide selection of limited edition signed prints and blank gift cards to suit all budgets.
